Faithful Love; Grateful Heart
As Thanksgiving approaches, Pastor Jerry will be sharing today how we can always have a grateful heart, despite our circumstances, if we truly understand and embrace the love and faithfulness of God.
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
- Thankfulness: Immediate and situational.
- Gratitude: Deeper, more enduring. A continual awareness of appreciation independent of external actions or events.
- Background: People had turned away from God and lived ungodly lives. The lowest point in Judah’s history. Jerusalem was destroyed, and people taken captive. 585 BC. This came because of their own actions and attitudes.
Key Point: Keep a grip on hope!
- God’s love never changes.>Unshakable, unwavering, steadfast.
Romans 5:8 NLT
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners - You’ll have all the mercy you need.>Never comes to an end.
Romans 7:15;18 NLT
15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. - Everyday is a new beginning.
Philippians 3:13b NLT
13b, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

Remember: God will always love you. He will always forgive you; he will always pick you up and give you another chance. And every day, he gives you a new day, a new life, a new chance to be all that He created you to be.
