God’s Road Signs for Life

Summer is officially here, and many people will be heading out on road trips. No matter your destination, you are guaranteed to see road signs along the way. Each sign has a significant purpose in guiding you. The same can be said spiritually. God has six specific “road signs” that help lead us in the right direction. Today Pastor Darth will take us on a journey to explore them!

Proverbs 2: 8-9 NLT

8 He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.

9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.

Road Sign #2 – The One Way Sign

John 14:6 NLT

6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Road Sign #3 – No Hitchhiking Sign

Acts 19: 13-16 NLT

13 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. 15 But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” 16 Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

Road Sign #4 – Under Construction Sign

Isaiah 64:8 NLT

8 And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand.

Road Sign #5 – The Stop Sign

John 8: 3-11 NLT

3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”

6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”

11 “No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

Road Sign #6 – The Yield Sign

Matthew 6:10 NLT

10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
    as it is in heaven.
