Boldness 5.15.22
Jerry Beebe

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”  Proverbs 28:1

Many of us struggle with living boldly as a loved child of God.   I read something recently that really helped me to realize that as an heir of the Father and co-heir of the Son, I can walk securely and with the boldness of the Holy Spirit.  We need not be ashamed, bashful, or hesitant about being “Christ’s Ambassadors” in this crazy challenging day in which we live.     Here are some keys developed by Joyce Meyer.

  1.   Refuse to Live in Fear:   Fear is epidemic in our society.   It’s causing insomnia, physical illness and even people moving out the state.  Fear is an epidemic of our society.  Hebrews 10 instructs us clearly to live by faith and not draw back in fear.

2.  Put Setbacks Behind You:  You are not a failure because you have tried something new and it didn’t work out.  You only fail when you stop trying.  Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and if you do, recover quickly and press on!

3.  Don’t Make Comparisons:   Walking in boldness will be impossible as long as you compare yourself to others.  Boldness comes from accepting who you are and being the best you can.

4.  Be Willing to Take Action:   Allow the Spirit to search your heart and then ask yourself what you believe God wants you to do.  Then like the Nike commercial tells us – “just do it.”

I’d encourage you to pray over these four keys and then ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength and power to help you live them out.  Walk forward and hold your head up with boldness this week!
