Pray for the U.S.A. 3.3.24
You know that my ministry has always focused on God’s Kingdom and I’ve not used the pulpit for National or Local political purposes. I do teach values and Biblical principles and encourage all of us to support and vote for candidates that align most closely with God’s heart and the Bible. I’ve recently, however, felt such a burden to encourage all of us to simply pray for our nation! Not with our own agendas or preferences but simply to acknowledge our need of God and to ask Him to intervene. We are living in some intense polarized times where the agenda and interests of politicians and their parties are more important to them than the common love and good of our country. It’s actually scary.
I have always identified with a more “conservative” mindset and now feel like a man without a home. Maybe you do too. This past weekend the “Conservative Political Action Conference” met outside of Washington, D.C. The opening comments included “Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on January 6, but we will endeavor to get ride of it and replace it.” What? He went on to talk about a “New American Republic.” I’m shocked that my “conservative” friends have now become so extreme and radical that they openly admit their desire is to destroy democracy as our country has known it for the past 248 years.
Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood. It’s not about Democrats or Republicans. We have enjoyed freedom of religion, equality and a lifestyle most in this world can’t even begin to imagine. I want my granddaughter and the next generation to enjoy this great county I’ve been blessed to live in. That’s why I’m committing myself to once again make it a priority for pray for the United States. I hope you’ll join me. Pray that our leaders once again will quit pushing their own agendas and do what is best for the citizens of our nation.
