Prayer Resources 12.17.23
Jerry Beebe

Each Sunday morning at 9:15, we open the “Gathering Place” (Room #102) for pre-service prayer.   On any given Sunday we have 8 or so people who come early and spend time asking God to prepare hearts, to anoint the worship and preaching, and to do His work in the hearts of those gathered.  You see the Scripture is clear, it’s not by might or by power, but by the Spirit of God.   That means the supernatural spiritual results of any service is not dependent upon the worship or how well the sermon is presented, but instead upon the spiritual revelation that can only come from God.

I’d invite you to come early and spend a few minutes in prayer before each service.  So often we come in rushed and preoccupied by the concerns on our mind.  You’ll be amazed at how much clearer you’ll hear from God and how much more meaningful the service will be, if you only prepare your mind and heart.   By taking a few minutes and allowing your spirit to settle, and to focus your mind on the goodness and majesty of God, you’ll be in a much better position to hear and receive from the Lord.

Also, there are prayer cards available each Sunday morning that might be of value to your throughout the week.   We have cards containing prayers of hope and wholeness for those who are ill, prayer for healing of broken relationship, and even a card with suggested prayers for missionaries and their families.   Feel free to take any of the prayer cards or resources that are available during that pre-service prayer.   They are there to help you as you intercede for others and develop your own prayer life.
