Adam 4.9.23
Jerry Beebe

As we announced publicly a few Sundays ago, Adam Guerra has joined our staff as our new “Worship Director.”   This is truly a “win” on a number of levels.  Adam becomes our second staff member in their 20’s and is also bilingual.  But more importantly, we know Adam and he knows us.   He’s attended WFA since he got his driver’s license and has always had a love for God and our church family.  Not only does he have a great attitude but has proven his servant’s heart and has also used his talent to minister throughout the years to our youth and to our Young at Heart Seniors group.   When interacting with him you’ll notice the joy of Jesus and his bright smile.  His connections with others in our community and ability to network is also very advantageous.

Pastor Darth took Adam under his wing years ago and has successfully mentored him into not only a proficient worship leader, but also a  team leader.  He has the respect of our current worship team who have embraced Adam as their new “go-to” guy.   As Worship Director, Adam will do all the scheduling of weekly worship leaders and team members.   He will work closely with our pastoral team and especially with Pastor Darth in the areas of sound, media, special events, etc.

There’s something that just feels right about “home-grown” leaders.  We not only know Adam but love the entire Guerra family.  His parents faithfully attended our morning service until the Lord called them to support our Spanish language church, Roca Eterna, where his Dad currently serves as an elder.  We see in the Bible how apostolic church leaders were always mentoring and coaching younger men and women and then releasing them to pastor churches, to be deacons, or head up other ministries.    There’s nothing wrong about bringing in someone new but I truly believe the healthiest way of sustaining the culture and vision of a church is to develop leaders within our own congregation.

Please congratulate Adam next time you see him, thank him for his commitment to this new position, and please pray for Him as he embarks in this new chapter of ministry.
