Fifth Sunday 1.29.23
Jerry Beebe

One of our values at WFA is “Authentic Community.”  That means we really do want to do life together.  To support each other not just with a smile on Sunday but in the tough times.  I’m so appreciative of those who provide meals to others who have had surgery or are going through a difficult season.  I’m grateful for the lady in our midst that is dedicated to keeping in touch with many of the widows who are now shut-in.   Just this week 5 men helped a single lady move.  There are also a group of ladies who assist me in following through and contacting people who have submitted prayer requests.

It’s important that we get to know and support one another.  One of our desires, as a staff,  is to provide more opportunities for people to connect to others who also make WFA their church home.  Toward that goal, we will be having a special “social time” after our Sunday morning service this week and every fifth Sunday of the year.  There will be the usual coffee but we’ll also provide free iced coffee and some light refreshments.

Even if you are a wall-flower, I’d encourage you to stay after church this week for a few extra minutes.   Introduce yourself.  Make a new friend.  Find out how the family of your friends are doing.  Ask someone what they’ve been reading in the Bible.   Talk about the weather if you want.  Just connect!   We are a “community” of faith and God doesn’t want us to live in isolation.
