10,000 Years 11.27.22

John Newton probably said it best when he wrote;  “When we’ve been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.”  On this Thanksgiving weekend, I simply want to remind you that we really don’t have enough time to count all of our blessings. God has been so good to us!  We not only need to thank him for our salvation but for our daily benefits and for the future hope He has promised as we trust in Jesus.

I’m sure you have enjoyed good food, visits with family and friends and perhaps some football.  But, during the past few days have you actually set time apart to reflect on God’s goodness?  So often we take for granted our homes, health, families, freedom, and abundant provisions.    If you haven’t done so yet, I’d encourage you to take 15 or 20 minutes, get away from the hustle and bustle of activities and simply reflect on your blessings and offer thanks to God.   Perhaps you can spend a few moments as a family, each offering what they are thankful for, and then read a Psalm of Thanksgiving as your prayer to the Lord.

There are many reasons I’m thankful this year and having the honor of serving this congregation as your pastor is at the top of my list.  I love you, care about you, and pray God’s richest blessings upon you and your family.  God bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
