Thank You!! 10.9.22
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We not only hit our goal of $50,000 for the needed roof repairs, but we exceeded it!! I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it was earlier this week when we received the invoice for $34,285.88 to be able to pay the bill in full!! (We had already put down $20,000) Because of your generosity we will now be able to put into savings the excess for future roof repairs, which we know will need to be done.
God is faithful and His people are more than generous! I sincerely appreciate every gift that was given. From the widow who gave $5.00, to the two elementary girls who gave part of their birthday money, to those who gave $100, $500, $1,000 or even $5,000. By all doing what we could, the goal was achieved through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We didn’t need to use fancy marketing, offer incentive gifts or somehow pressure people. We simple stated the need and depended on the Holy Spirit to speak to hearts and for people to be obedient to His Voice. One of our board members recently reminded me of the Scripture in 1 Chronicles 29:
“Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.” vv 16-17
I can certainly echo King David’s statement – “I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.” Again, from the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU!
