Haiti Relief 8.29.21
Jerry Beebe

I’m sure you have seen the terrible devastation in the rural areas of Haiti following the recent earthquake.  Over 2,200 people killed, 12,000 injured and over 136,000 buildings and homes were destroyed.  On top of that, the hurricanes have left flooding, additional damage, and have limited access for relief efforts to the most severely affected areas of the country.

The Assemblies of God’s disaster response organization is called Convoy of Hope.  They have a presence in Haiti, including a warehouse that was not damaged.  Being on the ground, they immediately were able to distribute water, water filters, lanterns, tarps, and other supplies.  They have already distributed over 1,000,000 meals and are partnering with other NGO’s (non-government organizations) to bring aid to these already impoverished people.

WFA has partnered with Convoy of Hope for decades and our board voted last week to immediately send $5,000 to help in these relief efforts.  As James instructs us, we are to feed the hungry and clothe the naked as a means to show them God’s love and create an opportunity to share with them the eternal salvation provided by Jesus.

Would you join us today with an extra financial gift to help the people of Haiti?  Convoy of Hope has for years earned the highest rating by “Charity Navigator.”  You can trust this organization to put your money to work directly to benefit those in need.

You can mail your contribution to the church office and designate it “Convoy of Hope.”  Our online giving platform also affords you the opportunity to give in the drop-down menu under “Missions.”   Thanks for joining your leadership in providing help to the people of Haiti during this time.
